A night post

IMG_5787Some traffic on my commute tonight.

I won’t have time to post tomorrow morning, so I am doing it tonight.  As usual, tonight, I have not really anything to say.

I’m thinking about a week without Dave since he stopped blogging.  I’m worried about Mary in Africa with all of the unrest, rioting, and turmoil all about her, I am keeping her close in my prayers.  Thinking about Pammie always being her inimitable self, regardless of what is going on.  Thinking of Syd sailing the seven seas.  There are many more of you, each of you with your own challenges, and I thank you for sharing them.

I’m pretty bored with my own challenges at the moment, so why don’t I skip boring you all with them.  I go back to basics… one of my friends used to listen to me when I called to complain about my myriad problems.  He would ask: are you warm?  and I would think, what the hell is he asking me that for.  Then, have you eaten today?  Again – what the heck?  Then, do you have a safe place to sleep tonight? About that time I would get it.  There are always things to be grateful for.

And which of you by being anxious can add one cubit to his span of life?  And why are you anxious about clothing?  Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these.  But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?  — Matthew 6:27-30

Mary….sometimes (all the time) it is as simple as being warm, eating and having a place to stay. I can’t imagine but there are people out there like that. We can forget.

Thank you for the verse from Matthew. Here is hoping you can wrap up your day and have a good weekend.

    • Yes, it is easy to be disgruntled while in my beautiful home (relatively), with my delicious nutritious food, and with lots of people who love me. Honestly, when I was homeless and destitute I had more gratitude. Sad.

Thanks for thinking of me. I’ve had a lot more to think about than sailing lately. But every day is a new day and things at the moment are good with the in-laws. Beautiful weather here too!
