This is a snap shot of what I am doing today. My daughter is on her way over. We are making two quilts and whatever else strikes our fancy.
I remembered early this morning that it is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, so I rushed to get dressed appropriately for Mass and headed out the door. I was surprised to see the church absolutely packed. On a Saturday morning. Awesome.
The child (33 years old) is here, I gotta go.
Have a beautiful weekend.
Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. — Luke 1:30-31
I love the finished ornaments! Very cute….we ended up making pine cone bird feeders at my little kid shindig….peanut butter slathered on a pine cone, then rolled in bird seed, tie a ribbon around and hang it for the birds. Quilting…..so you are a crafty lady. Knitter extraordinaire, ornament maker, quilter, icon painter……what next Mary?!
The pine cones sound awesome! The squirrels wrecked my bird feeder, maybe I can make those pine cones instead!
I like making stuff. Always have. I learned to sew when I was just a tiny girl. My mom would give me a needle, thread, and some fabric, and I would be quiet for hours! I suppose now we would never give a small child a needle and scissors, but I learned not to stab myself after doing it a couple of times!
Hope that you are having a good Saturday and weekend too. Life is busy here.
Crazy how busy we can be. I thought I would have a slow weekend yesterday morning, but it is Sunday afternoon and I still have a million things to do!
A beautiful feast — and a creative productive way to spend the day!
It is one of my favorites, I can’t believe I forgot about it until I sat down to pray, and saw the date! Thankfully I saw it before it was too late to get to Mass!
I, too, like the ornaments!
